Emergencies can happen when we least expect them – a sudden accident, a choking episode, or a collapse – and in those moments, knowing what to do could save your pet’s life. Our hands-on Pet First Aid Course is designed to give you the confidence and practical skills to respond quickly and calmly in any emergency situation. This is not a lecture-based course; it’s an interactive, practical workshop where you’ll be fully involved from start to finish. You’ll get the chance to practice with CASPER the CPR dog, giving you real-life experience of performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on a canine model. You’ll also take part in practical exercises to master essential first aid techniques including: - Checking vital signs and recognising what’s normal for your pet - Performing CPR with confidence using CASPER the CPR dog - Helping a choking pet safely and effectively - Applying bandages and dressings to different areas of the body - Controlling bleeding and providing wound care - Managing burns, poisoning, and shock - Recognising and responding to seizures - Treating heatstroke and hypothermia - Safe handling and restraint of an injured animal - You’ll work through real-life scenarios and demonstrations, so by the end of the day you’ll - not only understand the theory but also have the muscle memory to put it into practice. By completing this course, you will: - Know how to stay calm and take control in an emergency - Be able to assess and stabilise a pet until veterinary help is available - Gain practical experience with bandaging, CPR, and first aid techniques - Receive a certificate of completion and a digital first aid guide to keep for reference This course is ideal for anyone who cares about animals: pet owners, dog walkers, trainers, groomers, sitters, and animal professionals. No previous experience is required – just a passion for keeping pets safe. Every second counts in an emergency.
